Since then, I've earned a German Linguist Identifier (which gets attached to my job title), co-hosted a number of German radio shows on popular radio stations (Radio FFH and some other one I can't remember...) and created a partnership between my American military unit and a nearby German military unit in Griesheim. The highlight of that new relationship was when over Thanksgiving weekend '97, a dozen or so American soldiers and 25 German Navy Seals (at least their equivalent) spent 3 days in Bremerhaven to learn and fire each other's military's weapons, the American M16 and M9 pistol and the German G3 rifle and Luger pistol.
